This city has the most employees who quit over a bad commuteThis city has the most employees who quit over a bad commuteNew data from global staffing firm Robert Half shows that Chicago is the American city with the greatest amount of employees who say they quit their job over a bad commute.Overall, 23% of respondents said that theyve quit for this reason, but those ages 18 to 34 were most likely to say so at 34%.This also was true for 28% of men and 20% of women.An independent research firm surveyed more than 2,800 adult office employees in 28 major U.S. cities.Cities with the most workers whove quit over their commuteCheck them out1) Chicago2) Miami3) New York4) San FranciscoPaul McDonald, senior executive director for Robert Half, commented on the research in a statementCommutes can have a major impact on morale and, ultimately, an employees decision to stay with or leave a job, he said. In todays candidate-driven market, skilled workers can have multiple offers on the table. Prof essionals may not need to put up with a lengthy or stressful trip to the office if there are better options available. To help ease commuting woes, companies can offer remote work options, flexible scheduling or transportation amenities.What employers do to combat commuting issuesBut while 39% surveyed say that their commute has gotten better within the past five years, 22% said its worse, and 39% said theres been no change.
